Survey by gifting specialists One4all Gift Card reveals shopping trends amongst Irish consumers

Online shopping goes viral as a survey conducted by One4all, Ireland’s leading gifting specialists on over 2,000 Irish consumers reveals that one fifth of those surveyed plan to do up to 50% of their Christmas shopping online which is over five times more than they did last year.

However, according to the One4all survey, Irish shoppers do not plan increasing their shopping budget on Christmas gifts this year with 60% of respondents claiming they will spend the same as last year.

The One4all poll revealed that the majority of consumers have between five and ten people to shop for at Christmas including their children, partners and parents. A third of respondents will spend between €250 and €500, while a quarter of respondents will spend between €500 and €1,000 on this year’s Christmas gifts.

They say Christmas is all about the kids, not surprisingly, respondents with children spend the most amount of money on their brood followed by spending on their partners then mum and dad. While those respondents without children revealed that they splash out the most on their parents.

According to the festive survey, both wives and husbands find their significant others the most difficult to buy for at Christmas while it was unanimously parents agree their children are the easiest to please.

Those respondents without partners or children agreed that Dad is the hardest to buy gifts for (29%) while they agreed Mum is the easiest to shop for at Christmas (27%).
