The double Olympic gold medalist launches charity event that sees cyclists ride from Dublin to Galway
The event, organised by gift card company One4all, is hoping to raise more than £300,000 for disaster struck Haiti.
Over the May bank holiday weekend, cyclists will ride from Dublin to Galway on a two-day cycle covering 225km.
Victoria Pendleton says, “I was honoured to have been invited to launch Cycle4haiti, it’s such a wonderful event that offers participants the chance to raise money in a truly extraordinary way. What better way to see the beauty of Ireland than by cycling through it? I hope that the 2013 event will build on the success of the past few years and that Cycle4haiti will raise even more money than last year.”
Anyone can participate in the two-day event, which culminates in a celebration night in Galway, where every participant receives an award.
Entrants are encouraged to raise €500 each for the charity. For more information or to sign up visit www.cycle4haiti.com
