1. Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian
On November 16, 2017, tennis megastar Serena Williams wed Internet entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans, just two months after welcoming their first child together, daughter Alexis ‘Olympia’ Ohanian, Jr.
The two exchanged vows at the Contemporary Arts Centre of New Orleans, and speaking to Vogue, Serena explained that ‘Alexis really wanted to do New Orleans. It’s his favourite city besides Brooklyn. It’s got heavy European influence; it’s fun and has amazing food. He just loves the vibe. The venue was a decision we both made. Painting and art is something I’m really passionate about, so it just felt natural and different to do it at a contemporary museum’. The two chose the wedding date in memory of Alexis’s mother, who passed away nine years ago. ‘It is her birthday, and we wanted her to be represented at the wedding,’ Serena revealed to Vogue. ‘Obviously, we wish that she could be here for this, but choosing her birthday as her wedding date was a nice way of making sure she’s still involved and made us feel more connected to her on our day.’
The wedding was reportedly Beauty and the Beast-themed, and guests were apparently greeted with the song ‘Be Our Guest’ and welcome drinks ahead of the ceremony. Serena looked like a real-life fairy-tale princess in her gorgeous Alexander McQueen gown designed by Sarah Burton. Her two reception looks by Versace were just as dreamy, and she accessorised the white gowns with bejewelled Nike trainers.

Meeting him made the design process all the more magical, as he is so warm and such a gentleman’.
George wore a stunning black tuxedo made by Giorgio Armani in his finest wool and cashmere blend, and speaking to People about the wedding attire, Armani said, ‘I admire him for his warm personality and strong character, and of course for his great talent as an actor, director and producer.
